3 days & still nothing substantial has been done to arrest suspects of this heinous maguindanao massacre. it seems that while the rest of the province (and probably now, the country and the world) are aware who the perpetrators of this atrocious wicked bloodbath are, the police, the armed forces & the powers in malacanang still have to determine very carefully who may be liable and very deligently & very slowly handle the investigation of this matter as mandated by law. how rightful…

Dear Fellow LCCians,
The outrage that is the Maguindanao massacre has claimed the life of an LCCian, Connie Jayme Brizuela (HS Class 71). We must condemn such barbaric acts in no uncertain terms. Below is letter from Inpeace, a group that Connie has worked with closely for peace and justice in Mindanao. May her dreams live on through us!
LCC must be proud of Connie, small but terrible. A fighter till the end!

Women in politics stemmed out of women's right to vote. If we have the right to vote, then we,too must have the right to run for office. Here's to Andrea Lizares-Si. Go for it. I might as well say, that like marriage, the public office is for men & women alike. It is a partnership that brings a good combination of skills; some of which comes from a woman & the others from a man. It's like coffee that needs a creamer. Good luck & God bless your dreams for a better Bacolod City.

Dear God,
You have been our constant companion
You have been our Light to see vision
You have been our Shepherd to guide us through.
Much have been happening in our land
There are events beyond our imagination
The nature speaks well of our vulnerabilities
But you are always our Emmanuel.
A dear friend Sophie sent me a message
A prayer for her sister who is like many women who never gave up the hope
I do not know her well, but certainly she is not like Gloria Arroyo
Please God, if Andrea can be…

Hi! Please take the time from your busy schedules to read about what Efren Penaflorida is doing to help educate impoverished children and save them from joining gangs. We have the opportunity to get him elected as a CNN hero so we can show the world that Filipinos can also be known for good things - not just bad.

Each year, CNN gives $100,000 to the winner (from a field of ten finalists---winnowed from 9,000 nominees from all over the world) of its "Hero of the Year" award. This ye…

Do you know what it is like to look up into the velvet night sky, and yet not see the stars? Do you know what it is like to see the song birds sing their sweet music, and yet not hear their sound? Do you know what it is like to feel your heart inside you, and yet not feel it beat? Do you know what it is like to be in a crowd of people smiling, laughing, sharing their love together, and yet be all alone with no one around? Do you know what it is like when the light of your life has been extinguis…

TREE LEAF AND THE WIND
Tree People call me "Tree". I had dated 5 girls when I was in Pre-U. There is
one girl who I love a lot but never dared to go after. She didn’t have a
pretty face, good figure or an outstanding charm. She was just a very
ordinary girl. I liked her. I really liked her. I liked her innocence, her
frankness, her intelligence and her fragility. Reason for not going
after her was that I felt somebody so ordinary like her was not a good
match for me. I was also afraid that afte…

Living life to the fullest is a question of how we fully experience it bad or good.
Life could never be perfect without its up and down.
It is in pain that we could savor the true meaning of joy.
Its a question of have you been hurt or have you ever wept at anything during the past years or have you ever think that life after all have to end and it goes back to you, what have you made with your life to the present. Could you count the ways how or in what way have you made yourself significant wit…

Does it matter? It does. In light of eternity? It definitely does!
Will it lead me to the TRUTH? Give me identity? Meaning? Roadmap for this life? Assurance that I will go to heaven when I die?
There are 3 parts to this topic. I humbly ask you to listen to each one to get the full picture and a well-informed and balanced conclusion regarding this issue. Thanks.

UPLOAD, DOWNLOAD
By Sally I. Kennedy
August 21, 2009
If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to
all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. James 1:5
Upload, Download
For a not-too-techie type person such as myself, computer lingo sounds
like a foreign language most of the time. It even took awhile to
distinguish ‘download’ and ‘upload’. 8) Here’s my definition of
download: something comes in from somewhere in cyber space that has
data. I’m sure that i…

LOVE PEOPLE AND USE THINGS
Author Unknown
August 20, 2009
I am a mother of three (ages 14, 12, 3) and have recently completed my
collegedegree. The last class I had to take was Sociology. The teacher
was absolutely inspiring with the qualities that I wish every human
being had been graced with.
Her last project of the term was called "Smile." The class was asked
to go out and smile at three people and document their reactions. I am
a very friendly person and always smile at everyone and say h…

This poem was nominated by UN as the best poem of 2008, written by an
African kid
When I born, I black
When I grow up, I black
When I go in Sun, I black
When I scared, I black
When I sick, I black
And when I die, I still black
And you white fellow
When you born, you pink
When you grow up, you white
When you go in sun, you red
When you cold, you blue
When you scared, you yellow
When you sick, you green
And when you die, you gray
And you calling me colored ?

Filipinos are Brown
Their color is in the center of human racial strains. This
point is not an attempt at racism, but just for many Filipinos
to realize that our color should not be a source of or
reason for inferiority complex. While we pine for a fair
complexion, the white people are religiously tanning
themselves, whenever they could, under the sun or some
artificial light, just to approximate the Filipino complexion.
Filipinos are a touching people
We have lots of love and are not afraid t…
