LCCians of the World

Your LCCian Community of Friends in the World Wide Web

To all LCCB alumni (Elementary, High School or College),
I am very happy to invite all of you to a reunion of all LCC alumni US residents which will be held in commemoration of LCC Bacolod’s 90th Foundation Day. This exciting event will give us the opportunity to see each other and catch up after all these years. An important goal is also to raise funds and explore ideas on what we can give to our Alma Mater as she celebrates her 90th Foundation Day Anniversary.

There is a cost of $20 per head which will include food & snacks, maybe some door prizes but most of all the JOY of GETTING TOGETHER. Whatever is collected will be used to defray expenses for the event and the remainder will be sent to LCCB. Additionally, we are requesting those of you who are business owners to serve as sponsors for the event and provide more generous contributions at your discretion to send to our beloved Alma Mater. Payments and contributions will be collected in cash, in advance or at the door on the day of the event. Please call the RSVP phone number for any questions.

I know you are as excited about this as I am. In order to successfully make this happen, please RSVP at (562) 902-7595 by January 15, 2009 and state the number in your group for headcount purposes. You may also email any of the following or send us a note on our respective pages in this site.

Rodolfo (Bulit) Castillo: rudivy@yahoo.com
Danilo Deocampo: suman@salabat.com
Wila Inventor Kushner: wilakush@yahoo.com
Amela (Amla) Mirpuri Ucol: aucol@surewest.net

Feel free to use this invitation for encouraging others to participate as well. The success of this reunion depends on all our collective cooperation and hopefully this is just the first of many more to come.

All the best,
Rodolfo (Bulit) Castillo

Hello everyone,

I'd like to provide an update on the upcoming 90th Foundation Day Anniversary on 3/7 in LA.

A few days after invites were sent out via word of mouth, phone calls, hard copy letters, Evite, press releases and the LCCians website, we are looking at a rough estimate of about 60 attendees for now. A more accurate count will be made after the RSVP date of 1/15, after which the selected multi-purpose hall will be booked in the suburbs of LA.

I will also provide a guest list of confirmed attendees in the next few weeks to give an idea of who's going. Food and program committees are also in process of being selected. The plan is to serve snacks and have a simple one-hour program to allow people to mingle, socialize and network for the most part of the event.

This truly promises to be a memorable affair, being the first nationwide gathering in the US of LCC Bacolod alumni. We are encouraging those of you who will be able to work things out in order to travel to LA but are a little tentative, to take a leap of faith in the strength of kinship that binds us all as LCCB alumni. This is a great opportunity to possibly meet old friends and classmates, make new acquaintances and build future relationships.

More details to come as plans take firmer shape.

Regards to all,
Amla

Hello everyone,

Finally, USA Batch '73 has been able to nail down the venue for our grand reunion in LA. The event will be held at La Mirada Activity Center at 13700 La Mirada Blvd.; La Mirada, CA 90638. And with the collective help of those of you from this site who have voiced their enthusiasm to join and several alumni out there who have spread the word and provided info on others, our wildest expectations were surpassed and we have confirmed 122 attendees to date.

We will continue to accept more confirmations until the day of the event since the facility can accommodate 250 people. Due to popular demand, we have also lengthened the time of the event which will now be held from 1 - 7 pm. Everyone should be prepared to have a blast as there will be lots of food, and we have also hired a DJ for music and dancing. There will be an official photographer as well and we are still scouting for someone who can be in charge of taking professional video.

Those of you who have pledged sponsorship for the souvenir program should kindly send their pictures, greetings and payment to Wila Kushner before Feb. 5 for her to forward to the publisher. Wila's phone number is (562) 902-7595 and her mailing address is 10714 Claridge Place; Whittier, CA 90603. She is also in charge of accepting confirmations and entertaining any questions by phone. LCC website aficionados may likewise feel free to post a question on my page at any time.

Additionally, Wila has graciously made her home available for a meeting of the various planning and activities committees on Feb. 21 at 11:00 AM. If you have volunteered to join or have been delegated to one of the committees, please contact Wila for more details or show up at her doorstep on that date.

So when the day of the big event rolls around, we need everyone to show up on time as the event will start promptly at 1 pm so as not to waste precious fun time. Also make sure to bring your calling cards and any business or networking materials you would like distributed to your fellow alumni.

Look forward to seeing you there!

Thanks all,
Amla

Dear Amelia
Hi! I'm Meg Soliva, Andrea's sister here in the California.
I saw the email.... and M Nening already told me about it while in Bacolod in January. You are doing good in organizing this... with Rudolfo Castillo. Usually, we have teachings on the 1st Saturday of the month... and March 7, is a first Saturday... so I'm not sure if I could get out of this teaching, to be able to come to the Foundation Day Celebration. So for now... I'm not sure if I could come. I will email/call other classmates if they could come.
Thanks for all your hard work.
God bless
MEG L. SOLIVA

Dear Bulit, Dan, Wila and Amela:

I realize everyone is busy. I was hoping the group would follow up with organizing LCCBAAA or LCCBAAW shortly after
the La Mirada Gathering. Again to expedite organization would suggest the Board System as I proposed earlier, perhaps include reps signed up as Ex-officio members who can attend and participate in discussions, but not vote.

Don't mean to press, just hoping to see things get going while it is fresh in everyone's hearts and minds.

Perhaps you already are working on it, a directory posted at the website would be very helpful.

Boy,
Yep, busy but finding time for wrap up discussions on the March 7 event. Hopefully we will post a report on the activities NLT 3/31 and it will include financials, "set a date" to convene the interim board (those selected last March 7), etc. We're getting there.

Hello Doc,

I just finished posting the financial report that our team worked on these past few days. Our next to-do item is to identify a date and venue for the interim assembly, which will be the group that will brainstorm the formation of the formal alumni association. We will be in touch with you and other group representatives in the next few days to obtain info on all your availability.

One of our projects is also to create a database of all contact information collected during the reunion. This is currently work in progress. We hope to provide some type of access to the database, or at a minimum a spreadsheet directory soon.

Best regards,
Amla

Dear Bulit, Dan, Wil;a and Amla,
Just following up on the organization and formation of the LCCBAAA (LCC Bacolod Alumni Assn of America) or whatever name you want to call it.
You have done a great first step. The La Mirada Reunion was most successful. I only wish I had more time to mix and meet other alumni. I specially missed looking for Miss Andrada, our HS Geometry teacher who I understand was there.
More than ever, we do need the organization, led by young people like you.
God Bless!

Boy,
We are wrapping up some open items relating to the March 2009 reunion and one of the last piece is a DVD not only of the reunion but some historical shots as well as acknowledgements to sponsors. When this DVD is final, we will sell it to raise more money so that we can add to the $1,000 that we already sent to LCCB Alumni (we want to reach $2,000).
The USA organization will definitely be formed this year. The days after the La Mirada event were just busy and we just regrouped a couple of weeks ago. We expect the DVD to be done by the end of July and hopefully convene the 1st meeting (late August 2009) of the representatives selected during the La Mirada event.
We will definitely keep you posted.
God bless.
