A group of concerned citizens met Sept. 9, 2009 to begin organizing Negrenses to support Noynoy Aquino for President. "We want change and the reform of Philippine politics which is currently ridden with corruption, abuse of power, and misgovernance, that's why we've started this movement for Noynoy," the group declared.

N4N, Negrenses 4 Noynoy, calls on all concerned citizens, including youth who are too young to vote, to unite for a new leadership and to affirm our trust in Noynoy Aquino. Everyone who has had enough of the present state of Philippine politics and governance is welcome to join N4N.

The next meeting will be at the Redemptorist Bldg. (next to the Redemptorist Church), 3:00 p.m. on September 21, 2009, the 27th anniversary of the declaration of Martial Law. All who are interested are welcome to attend. Student groups are especially welcome. For information and/or to express your support, please contact N4N at paghidaet@gmail.com or text 09189151224.

"Now we can start dreaming again," the members of the group said.

Among those at the N4N organizational meeting were Francis Yulo and Dondi Poblador of Tuloy Pinoy, Kid Bañas of the 20/20 Movement, Lina Hilado, Charing Locsin, Jet Octaviano, Duds Locsin, Alex Ozoa, Lulu Tison of the Paghiliusa sa Paghidaet Negros and Andrea Lizares Si.

Press Release by LCCians Ms. Lina Hilado and Andrea Lizares Si.

P.S. - Lest I be accused to using LCCians of the World to support candidates I believe in, please know that articles in support of other candidates are also welcome, as are discussions of the qualifications of candidates and of national and local issues. LCC itself and the alumni association does not official endorse any candidate.

Noynoy now ranks no. 1 in the SWS survey. While 50% of those surveyed said they'd vote for Noynoy, the runner-up, Manny Villar got only 18%. Tak-an na gid ang Pinoy sa traditional politics.

This page will be updated once Noynoy’s platform has been officially announced. Below is his platform when he ran for senator.

“I am determined to continue the fight started by my father and my mother to see that democracy takes root and is strengthened in our country. This cannot happen in a government that serves the interest of the powerful few. We must strengthen the institutions of government so that they truly serve the interests of our people.” - from noynoy

In the light of attempts to weaken our democracy, I therefore stand to;

* 1. Strengthen the Senate as an independent branch of government;

* 2. Continue to hold government to account for its excesses and misgovernance;

* 3. Resist Charter Change if done to serve the selfish interests of the few and if the process circumvents that prescribed by the constitution;

* 4. Oppose all attempts to impose a repressive government, and more importantly; and

* 5. Be the voice of the powerless and the oppressed, those who do not have access to our government and are, thus, victims of injustice.

"CHOOSING PRESIDENT OF OUR COUNTRY IS LIKE CHOOSING A NATIONAL HERO"

September 21, 2009 around 3:00 p.m you probably see the NEGRENSES wearing T-SHIRT and printed with the slogan
"I TRUST NOYNOY" - HOW ABOUT YOU?.
I will be proud this coming 2010 if i would vote for BENIGNO C. AQUINO JR. for PRESIDENT, 'i'm willing to make {taya or pusta} not only for Noynoy’s presidential but more in pushing for much needed positive change in our country’s governance.

Since that we are now in between the Devil and the deep blue sea (type of system).
Now its a right time for us to show that we ARE fighting for Democracy.

AQUINO-ROXAS TANDEM

"To all of us who are fighting alongside him, make no mistake about it"
-The two senators' fathers, the late senators Gerardo Roxas and Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr., were both LP leaders who fought Martial Law.

Andrea, I know that you have made a disclaimer that you are not using LCCians of the world to support any presidential candidate but the mere fact that you are using the LCCian w/ N4N website for supporting a particular candidate. I believe, in itself is partisan and a conflict of interest. Out of delicadeza, I suggest that you should use a different website 'lest you will be misconstrued by other alumni's of advocating your own political agenda, LCCians comes from different political stripes and may have different world views. LCCians of the world website should not be used for such purposes because there was no consensus among the alumnis of using the website for political purposes. I know that you are very sincere in your political beliefs which I respect and admire. We both agree that there should be a meaningful change in the political leadership in the country but the fledgling LCCian alumni network that you have painstakenly established should be free from partisan politics. However, LCCians can have intellectual and political discourse in the forums and blogs of the website to promote their views and currently stake their vote for their political candidate for the presidency of the Philippines.
