I. Membership
Anyone who has been part of the LCC Bacolod Community is welcome to join. Teachers, non-teaching staff, and those who studied in LCC but didn't graduate in LCC are especially welcome. Since LCC Bacolod is mother to all the LCCian schools in Negros, we also welcome everyone from LCC Gardenville, LCC Branch I, LCC La Carlota, and other LCC schools.
II. Signing up
To facilitate sign-up, profile pictures, full names, and profile information are not necessary. In the spirit of community, however, everyone is encouraged to add his/her picture, location, full name (maiden name and married name if you're female and married), and profile information, especially your year of graduation (if College, state the course). If you were in LCC for the gradeschool or high-school but you didn't graduate in LCC, just state the HS batch you would have graduated with. For more signing up tips, see
"Can Classmates or Friends Find You Here". If you're posting pictur...
III. Joining Groups
We're a growing community and finding friends and classmates is getting more and more difficult. We therefore have groups for different high-school batches, for college departments, and special interest groups like Dance Arts, ECE, and others. Do join your class and/or college group even if you didn't graduate in LCC. Each group has its comment board and discussion board. You can also send private messages to all members, just as you would be able to do with a yahoo group.
IV. Pictures and Videos
We all want to see glimpses of you then and now so do upload pictures and videos. Everything that is uploaded takes up part of the 10Gigabytes that we're allocated as a free network, however. Now that we have the
Shutterbugs site, all personal photos should be posted there. School photos may, on a very selective basis be posted in lccians.ning.com but to save on diskspace, our photos have to be compressed or saved for web so that file sizes do not exceed 300 KB. If you need help with this, read the article
Reducing Photos with Adobe Photoshop.
Videos also take up a lot of our disk space so instead of adding your video directly to LCCians of the World, upload it first in YouTube, Friendster, or some other video host and then when you add your video to lccians.ning.com, just add the embed code.
V. Ethics
1. No nude, lewd, obscene, or violent pictures or videos please. We're not going to be as conservative here as a Mother Superior would be but we're LCC and what isn't proper for our LCC isn't proper for LCC on the web.
2. As our community grows, some of our old pet peeves, childhood enemies, and people with whom we may presently be in conflict are going to sign up if they haven't already signed up. We hope this network can help facilitate peacemaking. Definitely, it is not to be used to throw barbs or insults or destroy other LCCians.
3. As network administrator, I reserve the right to ban members who misbehave and to delete offensive photos, videos, discussions, or comments.
4. To report an offensive photo, video, discussion, or comment, please send me a message (a message will appear in my inbox as an e-mail), not a comment.
VI. Advertisements
Use your profile page as your primary page for advertising your business or profession. Use text boxes in your page to add text and a poster advertisement. Insert a hyperlink to your business website by high-lighting the name of your business and using the two chain links at the top of the comment menu bar to add the URL. You may also post an advertisement as a forum discussion in the
Classified Ads section of the Forum pages.
VII. Events
As much as possible, our official events calendar should be for events related to our being LCCians. Outside events to which LCCians are invited may be posted in the events calendar if the event is a livelihood opportunity, a seminar or activity on social issues, prayer life, Christian life, health and well-being. Please post other events announcements as
Business/Professional/NGO events or
Personal Events. . As network administrator, I reserve the right to regulate all events posting, especially where the official events calendar is concerned.
VIII Coordinators Circle
We have a Coordinators Circle that is supposed to be our main link to the different groups as well as our equivalent of a Board of Directors. Tentatively, this Circle is supposed to be composed of two representatives per group, one representative being the President or coordinator of the group in real life, and the other representative being the person who takes care of the group's web community and the group's page.
X. Community Rules
As LCCians of the World is our community, every member here has a say as to how this community shall be managed. If you'd like to suggest revisions or additions to our interim community rules, please feel free to add your suggestion as a reply or comment to this post or as a new discussion in our Bulletin Board.
