March 7, 2009. Bacolod City. More than 200 alumni of La Consolacion College in Bacolod City will gather in La Mirada, California, U.S.A. today, in the first grand LCCians-in-the-USA get-together that coincides with the opening day of LCC's 90th Foundation Week tomorrow, a press release from Andrea Si said.
Si is the incoming president of the College Alumni Association. A member of LCC HS Class '73 and AB-English Class '78, she is the daughter of the late Aida Servando Lizares who was president of the General Alumni Association for more than 20 years.

From the first two members, Si’s classmates Rodolfo Castillo and Amela Mirpuri Ucol, also the initiators of LCCians in the USA gathering, the network now connects almost 1,500 LCCians in five continents, the press release said.
The occasion is described as inaugurating a bridge that spans the Pacific Ocean, allowing LCCians in the USA to join in the 90th anniversary celebration of the school’s foundation. Organizer Amela Mirpuri writing from the USA said that in addition to commemorating their Alma Mater’s success, they are also on both sides of the globe, to celebrate their lives that have been shaped to a significant extent by the lofty standards of education provided by LCC, the press release said.
The "United States of Arfien," the lccians.ning.com group of LCC Architecture, Fine Arts, and Interior Design alumni in the U.S,. has announced that it is supporting the big get-together but will also be celebrating LCC's 90th Foundation anniversary through a series of activities for the Arfien in the USA. Arfien in Dubai will also have their own get-together.
La Consolacion College-Bacolod was founded on March 12, 1919. It is the oldest Catholic school in Negros Occidental, the press release added.*
