If I will answer this question, Id rather to go with this very simple pharse "" I D-O-N-T K-N-Ow ""
Exactly; I DONT KNOW..you know why???
------
we have an enormous quantity of work produced in a bewildering range of styles and media.
Vitality pops up here and there, but no single style has a monopoly on it.
You could say that we live in a late period of modernism,
or a time of pluralism, which has the virtue of accuracy if not richness of description.
We find ourselves in an age that the future will have to sort out and name for us, if it can

Well, its no longer a modern art... b-coz we are in a copy-cat-clone days noW! see, we'll just reviving the modern art today.
anyway, its just an opinion and through my experiences as well. cheerS!

We are going digital and so as art...but of course traditional art is still there but I think the kind of traditional art we have now is an evolution of the past

I say its the advent of Digital Art. But in a sense there is no specific form within the Digital age. Although rules still apply, like composition, color values, depth, and so and so forth, each individual is still free to pursue his or her art form within the Digital Age. Medyo confusing, but like I said... Its digital art na subong.

That is why I always enncourage people, especially the young artist to study and learn the tools behind this art form since this is not just a trend but a requirement. Gone are the good old days of Real Media brushes and paints, all is simulated or recreated digitally where work flows are faster and more efficient.

Hope this answers your question :)

digital art?are you sure.....how many software di you familiar with?;

Hi, Yes, I believe so. The same thing is happening worldwide. With the advent of digital world, almost all artform has been digitalized with the exception of a very few ones. If you have doubts, just check on how many people are actually knowledgeable in using Photoshop for their artwork and how many are still painting or creating art the traditional way.

I know it's rather vague to say it, but like I said, its no longer a trend but a need for a new budding artist to know these programs/software.

As to how many software I know or use, well on a daily basis I mostly use Photoshop and Maya with Shake. I also use a few more other programs but not that often :)

Anyway hope this answers your question :)

Like in many parts of the developing world, using digital devices are very rampant today.
Yet, this experience is hardly enough basis for making final decisions that we are now belong in Digital Period.
There some evaluation and questions must be considered before we move on in digital stage:
1. Is our school efficiently enough to teach student about latest and demand software? (As I could remember; they are teaching on Corel as vector and very basic to lowest Photoshop-then if these case happened how can we compete others?)
2. How many arfien people know how to use Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, 3D Max, Maya, Cad, Adobe Premiere, In design and so on……
(20? 30? 40? 50? 60? – Where did you learn that software?
Then How about our fellow artist that belong to blue collar (Artist that don’t have enough money to go to school) – How many they are? And How many we are?

Just make your own survey and make a data of what happening in our country today - Mga Peeps the result is the answer of your questions..

We individuals are making passive contributions to the exponential growth of the digital universe through our growing individual “digital shadow” by leaving a digital footprint as Internet and social network users, email use, through cellphones, digital cameras and — yes — even credit card transactions, Net searches, medical databases, airline transactions, retail purchases, banking and brokerage transactions.
In fact we look for the future that once upon a time, the Philippines churning out of one the best computer leterates..
But the image has since blurred, the story becoming almost a fable because of the slow moving of our economy right now there are lot of young people don't pay attention there education..
Im favor of mark opinion - Philippine Country can't be considered digital stage.

- As Interior Design I'm only using Sketch-Up Proffessional to have a good presentation to the client but my question how many Arfien Interior knows how to use this software?

Thanks for your opinions Mark and Nicole.

But I have to beg to disagree. Yes I see your point that only a few people have learned the software needed to create and make any digital medium that I am pertaining to, learning it is also hard to learn with the unavailability of such softwares on the market and if it is available, the prices are too steep, any Juan might just cringe to its price. A few would resort to using bootleg ones which is in fact and accepted practice on our country, kamahal mu.

However, Art is not limited and succumbed to the visual medium only. Art is a huge term that includes both written, and visual form. Writers now prefer using computers, photography has embraced digital medium too, music through digital composition and mixing almost everything is converted and has a digital version.

Moreover even if an artist say is not able to learn this software, how can an artist compete to the rampant rage of the digital medium sprouting almost everywhere. Even if you look around you can see it, Posters, Magazines, Cards, Film, advertisements, even the design of engineering and architecture sa Bacolod and the Philippines is done digitally with a little support from none digital form.

Even if it is not the art form now, it is the eventuality that will be. Unavailability of these software is not a hindrance either. I learned Maya and Photoshop with no formal education, nor the availability of the software. In the time where the PC was just in Pentium 3 and everything including the internet was slow. Now all of these information and tutorials can be learned with free working softwares available for download that can be used within 30 days. Its just a matter of looking around willingness to learn.

I know some people can not accept it, but that is where we are and is where we are headed.

BTW Nicole, I read that article in Philippines Star too. Nice one... however it talked more on our digital signatures online than the Digital artform we are using.

Peace Bros!

If you have an apple and I have an apple and we exchange apples then you and I will still each have one apple.
But if you have an idea and I have an idea and we exchange these ideas, then each of us will have two ideas.
